A homeowner and long-time resident of Menzies since her teenage years, Amanda brings a wealth of experience in public health and community service to her candidacy. Most recently, Amanda has dedicated years to teaching individuals of all ages and abilities to swim, including those with complex and neurodevelopmental disorders. 

Amanda’s commitment to healthcare is further demonstrated by currently role as a public health student researcher and her background as a former student nurse, a hospital volunteer, plus over 35 years as a trade unionist. Her extensive academic credentials include a Bachelor of Psychology and Criminology (University of Melbourne), Master of Public Health and a Master of Health Administration (La Trobe University).

The Menzies electorate, located in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs was traditionally a safe Liberal seat. Characterized by middle-to-upper-income families and a strong emphasis on education and professional achievement. Menzies has a diverse population that faces several socioeconomic challenges. The rising cost of living and housing affordability concerns are exacerbated by increased housing demand and limited supply. Maintaining economic stability and providing quality healthcare and education remain pivotal issues for the residents of Menzies.​
