How to Vote Card

The Trumpet of Patriots has endorsed former Senator and business leader Bob Day as number two on its South Australian Senate ticket, joining lead candidate Nicole Smeltz in a strong and deeply connected team.

Mr Day, a former Senator for South Australia, brings a lifetime of experience in politics, business and housing.

Before entering the Senate, he owned several businesses in the housing industry and served as President of the Housing Industry Association. He was also the former Federal Chairman of the Family First Party.

“It’s time we get back to looking after our fellow Australians in the way we once did,” Mr Day said.

“Sadly, Australia is beginning to lose its identity as the ‘lucky country.’ I am committed to putting Australians first and pushing back against the political wokeness that has infiltrated our lives so rapidly over the past decade.”

Mr Day said Trumpet of Patriots’ housing and infrastructure plan is exactly the kind of forward-thinking reform the country needs.

“We will solve the housing crisis by establishing high-speed, 120km rail networks linking major CBDs to new satellite cities.

“This will create affordable housing while cutting commute times to just 20 minutes. We’ll also allow families to use up to 30% of their superannuation for a home deposit and cap interest rates at 3%,” he said.

Mr Day joins Nicole Smeltz, a proud South Australian and community-minded mother of two, at the top of the party’s Senate ticket. A former State Director of the United Australia Party in both the 2019 and 2022 elections, Ms Smeltz also has experience in real estate and as international cabin crew with Qantas.

She is married to former A-League and New Zealand international footballer Shane Smeltz, and says her family ties and life experience across many sectors give her a strong connection to everyday Australians.

The Trumpet of Patriots says its SA Senate team combines “real-world experience, political grit and a passion for putting Australia and Australians first”
