Cathy Charsley, a dental receptionist with experience in customer relations in the housing sector and as a real estate manager, has been named the Trumpet of Patriots candidate for Lyne.
Ms Charsley is passionate about helping people and has given her time as a youth worker, mentor for teenage girls, and facilitator of conferences and retreats, supporting young people to find direction and purpose.
Drawing on her frontline experience in the housing and property sectors, Ms Charsley is a strong supporter of the Trumpet of Patriots’ plan to tackle the housing crisis.
“We need real solutions to housing affordability, not more band-aids,” Ms Charsley said.
“Our plan to establish 120km high-speed rail lines linking our capital cities to new satellite cities would mean families could own homes at prices they can afford, while still being just 20 minutes from the CBD.”
Ms Charsley said the party also supports allowing Australians to use 30% of their superannuation to buy their first home, and capping home loan interest rates at 3% to ease the burden on struggling families.
“People are hurting. It’s time for leadership that puts Australians first and offers real hope for the future.”
