Trumpet of Patriots has named Jamie Marr, a highly experienced mining and engineering professional, as its candidate for the Queensland seat of Groom in the upcoming Federal Election.

Mr Marr brings a diverse and entrepreneurial background to the campaign, with a long-standing career as a dealer and sales representative in the mining and earthmoving machinery sector. His professional experience also includes timber exports, consultancy in Indonesian manufacturing and engineering, and contract work as a diesel fitter in the mining industry.

“My career has taken me across Australia and overseas, but my heart is firmly here in Queensland,” Mr Marr said. “I’ve seen the enormous potential this country has, but also how poorly it’s being managed by the major parties.”

Standing with Trumpet of Patriots, Mr Marr is backing practical reforms to strengthen the economy and restore opportunity to everyday Australians.

“Our superannuation system gives generous tax breaks, but the money is too often invested offshore. We believe these funds should be used in Australia, for Australia—to support venture capital, infrastructure, and industrial growth right here at home.”

With his hands-on knowledge of both macro and micro business operations, Mr Marr offers a grounded and results-driven voice for Groom, and a clear alternative to the status quo in Canberra.
