Trumpet of Patriots has announced Jennifer Stefanac as the party’s candidate for the New South Wales seat of Newcastle in the upcoming Federal Election. A proud Wiradjuri woman and seasoned community advocate, Jennifer brings over two decades of frontline experience in child protection, Aboriginal education and small business to her campaign.
Jennifer Stefanac’s career spans roles as an Aboriginal Caseworker with the Department of Human Services, to establishing Blackseed Catering & Cafe—a bush tucker mobile food business that celebrates Indigenous culture and enterprise. Her deep roots in community service and entrepreneurship embody the resilience and practical leadership that Newcastle needs.
Newcastle has faced significant economic shifts ever since the closure of the BHP steelworks in 1999. While the city has diversified from being the heart of Australia’s steel industry, challenges persist. Housing affordability is critical, with rents rising by 12.2% year-on-year and a vacancy rate of just 0.8%. Socioeconomic disparities remain, particularly in suburbs like Waratah and Wallsend, where access to essential services and employment opportunities are limited.
Ms Stefanac’s campaign for Trumpet of Patriots addresses these pressing issues head. She advocates for practical solutions to the housing crisis, economic freedom and support for small businesses and community services to ensure that all residents have the opportunity to thrive.
“We must focus on economic freedom and ensuring that Australians have the opportunities and security they deserve.” Ms Stefanac said.
“My resolve to Make Australia Great Again comes from understanding what true freedom means,” she said. “It’s time for leadership that puts Australians first and delivers real results.”
Trumpet of Patriots is fielding candidates in all upper and lower house seats in the 2025 Federal Election.
