With a background spanning retail, manufacturing, real estate and the motor vehicle industry, Mark has been self-employed from a young age. His advocacy work, particularly in animal welfare and legal reform, has earned him national recognition, nomination for Australian of the Year and various community awards. He is a native wildlife sanctuary-owner and a dedicated volunteer, and Mark’s hands-on approach reflects his passion for service and justice.
The electorate of Makin, encompassing parts of the City of Salisbury and the City of Tea Tree Gully, faces several pressing socioeconomic challenges including housing affordability and homelessness, access to mental health services, financial hardship and healthcare accessibility.
