Trumpet of Patriots has officially endorsed Mark Westcott, an experienced resources sector professional, as its candidate for the seat of Kennedy in the upcoming Federal Election.
Mr Westcott has spent decades working in the quarry and mining industries, currently serving as a Technical Officer. In this role, he is responsible for identifying and planning critical maintenance works, coordinating personnel and equipment, ensuring safety and quality assurance, and driving continuous improvement across operations.
“My experience in the resources sector has shown me what’s possible when industries are supported with the right planning and leadership,” Mr Westcott said.
“But it’s also shown me how governments—particularly Labor and Liberal—have consistently failed to provide the long-term vision that regional Australia needs.”
As part of the Trumpet of Patriots team, Mr Westcott is backing a transformative policy to place a 15% licence fee on all iron ore exports from Australia—a measure aimed at eliminating government debt and reinvesting in national priorities.
“It’s time our natural wealth truly benefited the people of Australia. This policy ensures that the resources we export deliver lasting value for all Australians—especially the people of regional Queensland.”
