Trumpet of Patriots has endorsed long-time local businessman Michael Jessop as its candidate for the seat of Dickson in the upcoming Federal Election.
Mr Jessop brings more than 38 years of business experience to the campaign, including work across large corporate operations and small enterprises. For the past 26 years, he has served as the CEO of a Queensland-based boat manufacturing company, where he has overseen design, development, production, and innovation in the marine industry.
A pioneer in electronics and communications, Mr Jessop was also previously involved in the development of radio frequency modem technology and early smartphone concepts. He has spent decades creating solutions and building businesses from the ground up.
“I understand the challenges faced by small business owners and working families across our region because I’ve lived them,” Mr Jessop said. “From navigating red tape to finding affordable space to live and work, these issues are real—and they’re getting worse.”
As a former landlord, Mr Jessop said he has first-hand experience with the rental market and is passionate about fixing the growing crisis in housing availability—particularly in Queensland and across Australia.
“Affordable housing and business space are becoming out of reach for ordinary Australians. I’ve managed residential properties and run multiple businesses, so I know where the system is failing and how we can make it better.”
Deeply involved in the local community and sports, Mr Jessop’s candidacy represents a commitment to practical, experienced leadership. He believes the Trumpet of Patriots offers a fresh, common-sense alternative to the major parties and is proud to stand for real solutions in the electorate of Dickson.
