Trumpet of Patriots has endorsed Mark McGuire as its candidate for the Queensland seat of Oxley in the upcoming Federal Election.
With a deep-rooted family history in Brisbane, Mr. McGuire has lived a life shaped by hard work, resilience, and a commitment to community.
His uncles worked at the iconic XXXX Castlemaine Brewery, while his father was a union official who sparked his early interest in politics—attending council meetings and handing out how-to-vote cards as a child.
Mr McGuire’s diverse career spans the merchant navy, the oil and gas industry, running his own successful businesses, and later teaching at TAFE.
A dedicated sportsman, he has played A-grade rugby league and first-grade rugby union and has competed in 36 ring fights across disciplines including bare-knuckle karate and Muay Thai.
“As a proud grandfather and someone who has worked across multiple industries, I know the struggles everyday Australians face,” Mr McGuire said.
“The cost-of-living crisis is out of control, and our government’s mounting debt is making it worse.”
Trumpet of Patriots has a clear plan to tackle Australia’s debt problem, advocating for a 15% licence fee on all iron ore exports to eliminate government debt and bring financial relief to Australians.
Mr McGuire’s strong Australian Defence Force family background and Indigenous heritage further reinforce his deep commitment to serving the community.
